Overview
Recap started as a personal tool. I wanted to record meetings, get an accurate transcript, and walk away with a clean summary without doing any of the note-taking myself.
It's a native macOS app that records both microphone and system audio, transcribes everything on-device with faster-whisper so nothing leaves the machine, separates speakers, summarizes the conversation with Claude, and can file the notes straight into Notion. It runs quietly in the menu bar and can detect when another app starts using the microphone to prompt a recording automatically.
